Astral Spooktober Stories: The Emotion Eater

In the spirit of the season, we thought it would be fun to tell a spooky story taken from one of our out-of-body experiences. Since Halloween is right around the corner, what better time is there to talk about one of the infamous topics of astral projection: negative entities.
Before we proceed there is something that we have to bring up first. Encounters with entities like this are very rare, so don’t let stories like this frighten you into never trying astral projection or related practices. Even if you did encounter any, the worst that can happen is you waking up from it. We cover many myths when it comes to AP as well as more information on negative entities in our Foundation Course so if you’re ever interested to know more about entities in general, and a large section there on negative entities, then give it a look.
Dreams Can Impart Astral Experiences
When it comes to strange entities, they don’t always have to show up when you’re out of body, they can appear in dreams as well. As we’ve said through our Institute material numerous times, during many instances of sleeping you can actually be somewhere in energies outside of here, observing a higher form of yourself doing tasks, interacting with beings and environments, and having experiences that would otherwise make no sense from a physical reality perspective.
Unfortunately, most people don’t remember the majority of their dreams. CBS did a poll on how often Americans remember their dreams, with some interesting results: “Four in 10 adults under 30 say they remember their dreams at least most of the time. Americans over 30 are less likely to report remembering their dreams: more than a third say they rarely or never remember them.“ Also, even if we do remember them most of the time, we’re still missing out on almost half of our experiences as talked about in this Psychology Today article: “According to recent statistics, 45 percent of dreams are remembered, whereas, in 22 percent of cases, there is no memory of any dream whatsoever. “ Here's a link to the study.
If we fully remember all of our dreams every night, imagine how much information we could get and study, not only when it comes to consciousness, but also information regarding details of the astral and life outside of this physical dimension. Today’s story is attributed to co-founder Bret Hart, who had an encounter in one of these bizarre dreams. The strange thing is - it didn’t stop when he woke up...
The Emotion Eater
On this particular night, everything was normal, I hadn’t done any intention work for astral projection I just went to bed as I usually did. I’m a light sleeper so I generally wake up a few times during the night and this lets me remember more dreams than usual since I’m waking up fully instead of staying asleep after a cycle is done.
A few hours into sleep I had a vivid dream. In this dream I wasn’t my usual self, I was a young Japanese boy around eight years old if I had to guess. It was the evening and I had entered a room at a school. It wasn’t like a regular classroom though since there weren’t any chairs and tables, but several bunk beds along the walls with a clear space in the center of the room. There were a lot of children the same age playing with toys, all wearing the same school uniforms. The walls were a tan color and the floor was wood, with a large fiber mat covering the majority of the floor space which the kids were playing on. The bunk beds were also made of wood, with white pillows and tucked in green blankets. On the wall near the door in the corner of the room, there was something like a chalkboard or whiteboard, but if there was anything on it I can no longer recall. From what I remember I don’t believe any teacher or adult was present as well, just kids having a good time playing and being kids.
Unfortunately though for me, none of the kids wanted to play with me. I remember thinking back in the dream, to a time when me and another boy who was my best friend would play together and I was welcomed in the group. Something had changed this dynamic and I couldn’t remember why, neither he or any of the other kids wanted to play with me anymore so I was ignored. A feeling of dejection and sadness washed over me, and I laid down on the wood floor on my left side in front of one of the bunk beds, closed my eyes, and cried.
After several seconds of crying, I felt a couple of points of pressure on my right side, like something was resting on me. I opened my eyes and was met with confusion, the lights in the room were off, and all noise had left the room – all the children were gone but me. I wondered what was touching me so I turned my head and torso to the right to get a better look.
I’ve tried to use AI to depict what I saw, but it’s unable to even get close. I lack the artistic talent to draw it so the most I can do is describe it with words. I turned on my side to see a creature, prostrated next to me with its “hands” resting on my side. They were less hands and more of a fleshy stump, not something left over by amputation, but as if a fist had turned into a solid fleshy mass. Its skin was wrinkly and gray but since it was bowed over I couldn’t get a full look. Upon seeing this creature I instantly gained lucidity and my awareness collapsed into the scene and I was there as I am here now. It stopped touching me and that’s when I stood up, but so did it.
The creature stood up to over six feet in height and had the vague features of a sickly emaciated woman. Its skin was a pale gray, it had long arms ending in those aforementioned stumps, and wide thin hips. Tattered brown rags covered its hips and chest, which was the only modesty it had. The wildest part was its head. Two long, bowed necks jutted out of its shoulders, forming a slender oval as they connected again to a round, bulbous head topped with scraggly grayish-brown hair and devoid of a mouth or nose. Two massive white eyes took up the majority of its face, each eye being three inches at least in diameter, with a small piercing black dot to denote an iris. The eyes were intense, lidless, and unblinking, staring at me as it rose.
As we both stood up, I started to hear a loud chanting emanating from around me and I assumed was being generated by the creature despite it having no mouth.
“Omnia, omnia, omnia, omnia….” it repeated, and is the closest description of the sound that I can remember. The voice itself was deep and undulating, yet it didn’t seem to inspire more fear in me.
Being in complete shock of this thing, and having lucidity, as soon as we stood I flew up into the air towards the ceiling of the room which now seemed to be higher than previously, and backed away from the creature as it stared at me. As soon as I did this, I woke.
I woke up normally, thinking “What the hell was that?” Another feeling accompanied that however… it was still in the room. I could feel a presence in the room, it was very distinct. If you’ve ever felt watched it felt like that and strongly. I was a little flustered and decided to get up to use the bathroom. Once I did that and got some water I decided to just lay back down and do my best to try and fall asleep since there was nothing else that bothered me in the apartment besides the feeling of something there.
It took around 30 minutes to fall back asleep, upon which I instantly went into a dream again, as the same Japanese boy.
This time I was in a traditional Japanese house, on a second floor. It was bright in the bedroom I was in, light was coming in through the window and the walls and floor were white and welcoming. There was a trunk in front of me that I was putting clothes into, presumably to go on a trip. I felt something behind me though and turned around. The creature was there again, standing tall and staring at me. This time though, I didn’t feel afraid and even told the creature to “shoo!”, to which it did. It left the dream and I never saw it again.
Impressions
Even though this thing looked weird and the eyes a bit terrifying, I realized afterward that it never actually hurt me or was hostile in any way. If we saw that thing here on earth we’d assume that it would try and hurt us just based on its looks, but this wasn’t the case. What I think happened, was that this entity was passing through layers of energy maybe in the vicinity of my energy self going through this dreaming phase, noticed that I was experiencing a strong emotion, and stopped to have a snack.
When we talk about negative entities in general, one thing that seems to be a theme amongst them is the need to instill and feed off of an emotional response. Some try to get a rise out of you, usually through fear, maybe anger, because emotions are an outward, expressed form of thought energy. Somehow this seems to nourish them. It could be that the one I encountered looked this way by design to instill a response like that. It’s a bit like Monsters Inc. if you think about it, funnily enough.
I have a feeling that this one in particular was surprised by me, it wasn’t expecting me to notice it or go lucid. I think that’s why it stuck around after I had woken up and observed me. The only reason I ended up seeing it again in the next dream was because it stayed to watch. It never communicated to me at all, the only thing I ever got from it was that weird chanting. I tried to divine an answer about that using a pendulum, and all I could get was that it was chanting something to protect itself from me. How and why, I do not know, but it is interesting.
In the end, even though it was absolutely freaky to see and intimidating, I wasn’t in any real danger. It felt like an opportunistic animal that ran on instinct. It never hurt me and I woke up just fine. Maybe we should take it as a lesson to not judge something based entirely on how it looks, or at least that encounters with these things aren’t anything like much of the misinformation you see online. Either way, we hope this story has given you some shivers and food for thought. Who knows, maybe you’ll get your own encounter to tell us about this Halloween…Sleep tight!
